Okay, the gourd planting appears to have been a bit of a bust. I did get this one little guy though. I'll give him another couple of weeks to grow up a bit.
Hi, my name is Chris and I'm fairly new to gardening. I started in May of 2009 when a friend gave me some seeds from her garden. I dug up some ground near our swimming pool and plopped them in. I guess I never really thought they would grow. But they did. Now I'm hooked. Hope you are too!

Wow...you have quite the green thumb. Everything here in Virginia is drying up. We need rain, desperately.
Blessings, andrea
So, Chris, what will you do with this ONE gourd?
I had the same problem with mu mini pumpkins this year. I may have 3 good one.Do you paint your gourds?
you should leave it on the vine untill the vine dies. Then store the gourd in the garage and next spring it will be ready to craft!
